Money by the mile for the manufacturer 

This is a car that one can customize whereby the outer and inner skins of the car can be changed according to your desires and personality.  Like the mobile phone cover.  Licenses can be supplied to manufacture these skins and accessories.  Imagine you want to have a car that is branded with your favorite pop star, a feminine feel or futuristic, it can be.  Anyone can change the panels just by clicking on and off.  

You can customize according to profession and needs for your particular work and entertainment.  A basic car is supplied and all the accessories and features are optional extras.   

Up to now all of these features and wants cost the manufacturer money in R&D and manufacturing.  If we took aesthetics and said this would now make the manufacturer money.  Reliability is based on service levels and how quick can something be fixed if it breaks.  This process could be streamlined to put money back into the factory.  

The manufacturer now makes money by the mile and by accessories to add on and change by the individuals needs.
